Biology is a course which stills has an EOC (state End of Course Exam).
All of the Biology students have been assigned a book that must be kept at home. I have a class set of books so there is no need for the students to carry their assigned book back and forth to school.
Students by now should have completed the Pre-Test for Biology. This must be done before students can start using the program to help in studying for the NC End of Year Biology test that counts 25% of their total grade. THERE ARE SEVERAL STUDENTS WHO HAVE NOT DONE THE PRE-TEST. THEY WILL BE GETTING "0" FOR ASSIGNMENTS TIED TO STUDY ISLAND AS THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DO THEM :-(
Important news for all -- I have a Student Teacher from UNC Chapel Hill who will be teaching the Biology classes until Spring Break in April. Her name is Miss Rice. This is well prepared to teach Biology and come April will be a graduate of UNC and hopefully certified to teach high school Biology. I have either been in the classroom to help with labs or within hearing distance to monitor how she and the students are doing. I AM PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT EVERYTHING IS GOING WELL!!!
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or Miss Rice, [email protected]
INFORMATION FOR THE BIOLOGY EOC: WEIGHTED DISTRIBUTIONS
Structure and function of Living Organisms 18 - 22%
Ecosystems 18 - 22%
Evolution and Genetics 43 - 53%
